Many years after when Cesar defeated main army of actual french, known as “gaulois” than they decided to promote Paris as the capital city of actual France. They had problems to settle peace with Massilia, one their key enemy from Greece, and Lyon did not have a name, they decided so to make Paris their military headquarters with germans tribes and english tribes. It soon became the main city in France during antique times. The first name for the first big french main city was a greek one, colony is thougt to have been found by greek around 1000 BC. By derivation it meant Lutetita in Latin language, it became after Paris when France defeated the Roman Empire domination, from “Lutèce”. Related posts:
